LPRV - Toy Rover

The Lunar Pressurized Roving Vehicle (LPRV) is a personal project for a friend’s birthday.

It is a retro-themed toy model rover, taking aesthetic inspiration from NASA’s Apollo era.

Designed for 3D-printing, all individual parts feature clean geometric lines and fillets oriented along a single axis. By placing fillets perpendicular to the vertical print axis, I could minimize the staircase effect from layer lines and achieve a higher-quality appearance right off the printer.

Assembly details include dovetail joints, stainless steel dowel pins, and model glue to hold the body together. The wheel assembly features brass heat-set inserts, press-fit sintered bronze bushings, and threaded stainless rods for the axles.

A very fun side project to bring to life.
